4wd, all terrain tires, limted slip diff, ESC, ABS did great in the 10 inches of snow that was dumped on us in Oakland County.

I thought ATs would be BETTER than snows/winters when there is actually something to grab.

I think your next upgrade skips studs and goes right to treads!

I think deep snow is easier to get around in. It’s harder to slide out because of the ruts. At least, I experienced very little difficulty in a reg cab long box Silverado (the hard part was when I had to slow down on fresh snow, it’s hard to get going again), leading me to believe this is the only option.

Because the temps were going back n forth between above/below freezing all day it was a snow slush, sleet shit show getting home saw several people spin out in front of me while driving. Not fun

Rear wheel drive, all terrain tires, open diff, no assists did just fine for me!

I’m not sure why everyone is freaking out about this storm. Maybe because it’s the only real one we’ve had this year?

Yesterday was really bad because the temps went back and forth between freezing not freezing, so we had snow, rain, sleet, slush, ice build up all over the roads. Created some nasty ice packed ruts

Hmm, I must have got lucky. I live in Wayne County, but the wife works up in Oakland County and didn’t have any real complaints. Guess she missed the bad roads last night.

From Auburn Hills to the north part of Clarkston is my drive home, and it took just over 2 hours last night. Saw several people spin out, one of which was oncoming and my only thought was “if you hit me I will find you, I will punch you in the face”

Wasn’t bad for me, the Mighty Milan drove right through it.

FWD V6 ABS TSC, Solid All Season Snowflake tires.

Never have trouble. I’ve taken it through 9 inches before.

I make it home 20 mile coming from Romeo in my Focus ST.

Land Rover Discovery never needed to leave the driveway.

I’m considering selling mine right now or doing all the maintenance it needs.

It has 102.5k miles on it and all I’ve fixed on it is 1 brake caliper, everything else is just regular maintenance - tires, pads/rotors, wipers and I’ve driven it since 45k miles. Great car.

It needs shocks/struts, spark plugs (which means it needs intake gaskets because you have to pull the intake manifold, theres 6 gaskets there), and I developed a small oil leak that I believe is from the valve cover on the back side of the motor, so I’d do that at the same time as the intake manifold/spark plugs.

I don’t think the car is worth more than 3 grand at this point on trade and those upgrades will probably run me about 700-1000.

If I do all those upgrades I’m sure it’ll be perfectly fine to 175k miles I just don’t know if I want it for that much longer.

Tough decision.

I somehow made it out of Wixom at 4pm in a Fiesta. They hadn’t plowed Grand River or 96 or anything!

I avoided the highways, cut through pontiac, which was even sketchier, just as many crappy drivers, but way crappier cars so they could care less what happens if they hit someone or something.

Lived in Kalamazoo for almost 6 years. That was the city I decided that I will never own another 2WD truck again
